Attendance Task Force (JCATF)

Co-Facilitator: Tuwann Worthy, Jackson County Director of Juvenile Justice Programs
OVERVIEW, GOALS & PURPOSE OF JCATF:
JCATF is being formed to improve school attendance in Jackson County. We will partner with key stakeholders such as Caregivers, Community Partners, Local Schools, Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) & the Courts to reach the goal of improving attendance in Jackson County. Our purposes will be to:
Highlight what’s working and shed light on the positives (bright spots)
Address barriers and concerns
Develop and implement solutions to identified problems
COMMON AGENDA: The taskforce will meet three times yearly to:
Participate in shared learning opportunities
Celebrate successes and identify root causes, barriers and concerns
Troubleshoot root causes and barriers, develop solutions, make decisions and take action to impact change
EXAMPLES OF RESOURCES WE WILL UTILIZE TO DRIVE OUR WORK:
Attendance data (ie trends, referral numbers, etc)
Voice and perspective of key stakeholders (ie parents/caregivers, students, school/court staff, community, etc)
Current attendance protocol, process and tools
Evidence based resources (ie Attendance Works website, other resources)
EXAMPLES OF GROUP AGREEMENTS WILL INCLUDE:
Titles and personal agendas will be left at the door.
Diverse lived experience, expertise, knowledge and skill will be welcomed!
We will come at this work with a collective spirit and voice.
Sensitive conversations and/or discussions will remain within the group.
