＜実行委員長挨拶＞

こんにちは、アンです！私は今皮膚科で医療事務員として働いていますが、近いうちにフィジシャンアシスタント(医師助手)学校に行くことが決まりました！EC25のテーマは "Be Still" です。私がユースだった頃、将来に関わる大事な決断など色々と考えていっぱいいっぱいに感じていたことを今でも覚えています。私の人生の目的は何なのか、私は何のために作られたのか、わからなくて不安でいっぱいでした。人生で最も大事な時期に神様のことを知っていたらと何度も考えたことがあります。

今の若者たちは、さらに多くの疑問に直面し、神ではなくこの世から来る視点に常に影響を受けています。彼らは精神的な健康、不安、うつ病、そして成功や完璧さへのプレッシャーに苦しんでいます。若者たちが「私は何者なのか？」「私の目的は何なのか？」といった疑問に直面した時、この聖句は神の計画のタイミングを信頼することを促します。彼らは精神的苦痛、不安、鬱、成功や完璧に見せなければならないというプレッシャーに悩み苦しんでいます。ユースが「自分は何者なのか？」「自分の存在の意味は何なのか？」といった疑問に直面するとき、この聖句は神の計画における神のタイミングへの信頼を促します。「黙す」とは、成功と自立を追い求めるこの世代の混沌の中で、立ち止まるというカウンターカルチャー的な呼びかけです。この言葉は、神への信仰とは自分の能力を信頼することではなく、神をより深く信頼することであるのだと思い出させるものです。「黙す」とはただ黙ってじっとすることではなく、主に完全に身を委ね、信頼する行為です。若者にとって、希望が見えない時や迷いが出ている時に主を信頼することは神を礼拝することと同等な行為なのです。

Hello! My name is Anne, and I am currently a medical assistant working in dermatology, but I will soon be attending PA school! The theme of EC 25 is “Be still”. Reflecting on my youth, I recall feeling so overwhelmed with so many important decisions I had to make for my future. I felt confused and anxious due to the lack of understanding of my purpose in life or what I was created for. I wish I had known God sooner in my most formative years. 

In 2025, the youth face even a larger flood of questions and are continually influenced by perspectives that come from the world, not from God. They struggle with mental health, anxiety, depression, and the pressure to succeed or to appear perfect. When the youth face questions like “Who am I?” or “What’s my purpose?”, this verse encourages trust in God’s timing in plan. To be still is a countercultural calling to pause in the midst of this generation’s chaos of chasing success and self-reliance. It is a reminder that faith in God does not mean we trust in our abilities, but it’s about trusting in God more. Being still is not about passivity, but it is an act of surrendering and trusting completely in the Lord. For youth, it is an act of worship to trust in the Lord when situations may feel uncertain and hopeless. I hope and pray that EC25 will be a camp that helps us understand the calling in our lives to be still but also have the youth remember that the Lord will continuously fight for them.
