Charitable Giving Guidelines

The Spouses Org is committed to supporting initiatives that uplift the morale and resilience of military members and their families, address humanitarian needs, promote safety and wellness, and provide educational opportunities. Our charitable giving is guided by principles of transparency, fairness, and thoughtfulness.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for funding, requests should align with one or more of the following:

• Support for military members and their families

• Humanitarian aid including education, health, and human services, food, and shelter

• Promotion of safety, wellness, and community responsibility

• Educational advancement opportunities

• Assistance for the poor, distressed, and underprivileged

Funding Priorities

Priority is given to organizations that:

• Primarily support military members and their families

• Have programs impacting the JBMDL community

• Spend financial resources on direct goods or services

• Conduct activities relevant to our members and families

• Benefit a broad group of individuals

Donor Recognition

In exchange for our support, we ask that organizations:

• Acknowledge the donation with a thank you note

• Publicly recognize JBMDL Spouses Org’s sponsorship

• Provide photographs of the event or program supported

Eligibility and Limitations

Our contributions are mindful and selective:

• Donations are for organizations, not individuals

• Funds are not for items covered by appropriated funds

• Charitable funds are not for reimbursing past expenditures

• We avoid funding normal operating expenses

• Support is cautious for political and religious entities

• Donated funds must be used for their intended purpose

Application Timing and Process

Proposals are accepted year-round and reviewed in order of receipt. The decision-making process typically takes 4-6 weeks. Requests over $1,000 and for June through September activities must be submitted by April 30th. Urgent requests will be expedited when possible.
