Alonzo Ellison

Alonzo Ellison grew up in the small town of Cameron, Texas. From a young age he was fascinated with music thanks to listening to old records that his Father would play. At the age of eleven Alonzo picked up a trumpet and began the lifelong journey of being a musician. This new journey would lead to him being one of the first call trumpet players in Austin and surrounding areas.

While in Austin, Alonzo worked at the prestigious Austin School of Music as a brass instructor while freelancing at night and on the weekends playing for functions such as corporate parties, wedding receptions, private parties, and gala’s. Some venues that Alonzo has played at include Paramount Theatre, Austin City Limits Live at The Moody Theater, Austin City Limits at Zilker Park, Antone’s Nightclub, The Continental Club, Geraldine’s at Hotel Van Zandt, Banger’s Sausage House, Irving Convention Center at Los Colinas, La Cantera Resort & Spa, Miller Outdoor Theatre, and Casino Del Sol.

Alonzo currently performs with various artists in the Austin and surrounding area and he is working on a masters degree in Music Education from Tarleton State University. Alonzo’s hobbies include grilling, reading, playing video games, and watching Dragonball Z.

Erin Gibson

A native of Temple, Texas, Erin Gibson began taking piano lessons at age 5 and flute lessons at age 10. In high school, Erin won gold and silver medals at the Texas All State Solo Ensemble Contest on both flute and piano. As a flutist she was named outstanding performer two years in a row, and was a gold medalist three years in a row. She was also selected to the Texas All-State Band on flute.

While pursuing her undergraduate degree, she studied with flutist William Bennett of the Royal Academy in London. She graduated with a 4.0 GPA from Baylor University in 1999 with a Master of Music degree in Flute Performance.

Erin has been a successful beginning, middle, and high school band director for 13 years and has accompanied high school students at UIL state solo and ensemble contest. Currently she teaches many middle and high school flute, clarinet, saxophone, and piano students privately, with students earning chairs in all-region and all-area bands, first chair alto saxophone middle school all-region jazz band, as well as gold and silver medals at All State Solo/Ensemble Contest.

Erin continues to perform professionally, playing flute and piccolo with the Temple Symphony Orchestra, and principal flute with Central Texas Master Singers.
