About the Director

Carroll Gotcher, Director of Bands, is in his 29th year at Jackson County (Gainesboro) TN. He was the Band Director at Kingsbury Middle and High Schools in Memphis, TN prior to this. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from Tennessee Technological University in 1988 and his Master's Degree in Music Education from The University of Tennessee (Knoxville) in 1992.

Mr. Gotcher is a frequent performer on trombone with the Big Band Sound Orchestra (which he also leads), the Cookeville Community Band (which he often conducts), and the Four Horns Jazz Combo (which he leads). He also performs on euphonium with the Nashville Wind Ensemble, the Euphouria Quartet, and at his church. He plays baritone horn in the Southern Stars Symphonic Brass Band. He often plays bagpipes, as well.

Mr. Gotcher is often called upon to guest conduct honor and festival bands and frequently adjudicates contests and festivals across the Southeast.
