Are you thinking of transferring to Indiana University when you graduate from here? All TSAP transfer students must start at IU in the fall, and transcripts typically are due at the beginning of the summer before you start at IU. Here are some links for more information:

  • Be sure to look at the biology degree map for special requirements

  • Students transferring to IU should take BIOL 222, not BIOL 240. BIOL 222 is a prereq for many upper level classes at IU, so waiting to take BIOL 222 will delay your progress at IU.

  • While IU will only accept 60 credits (the TSAP degree credits), if you are headed to medical school, the medical school can accept our APHY and other credits outside of the degree.

  • TSAP students can only start at IU in the fall. Applications are due June 1 and final transcripts must be received by July 1.

Ball State offers visits specifically for students transferring with a Transfer as a Junior degree. They have many great supports (writing and tutoring centers, scholarships, career centers, study abroad opportunities, a food pantry, etc). One really neat thing about Ball State is that they have focuses within the biology degree. Upon transferring, you could complete the basic biology degree in 2 years, but if you are willing to attend during a summer or maybe an extra semester you could focus your degree on one of seven concentrations which range from cellular and molecular biology to wildlife biology and conservation.

One really cool thing about ISU is their focus on undergraduate research. Once you transfer, you will have many opportunities to work with researchers in labs, in the field, during regular semesters, over the summer at remote locations, etc - optional, of course, but a wonderful opportunity!
