I WLL BE DEMOSTRATING HOW TO SET UP YOU STILL LIFE IN CLASS. Here are the important takeaways:
Use books or other stable objects to give your still life a variety of heights and platforms.
Start out with all the fabric pieces and drape them over your books/setup. Include wrinkles to add interest to your clothing.
Start adding your accessories. REMEMBER to overlap items to create relationships between objects in your still life.
Take 3-5 close-up photos of your set up for DIFFERENT angles. Think about which item in your still life will be your focal point DONT HAVE IT CENTERED. Have at least one picture from high angle shot, straight one shot, and a low angle shot of your still life.
Rearrange your still life 2 more times take 3-5 shots of each setup.
Upload your 9-15 images onto a document. Your photos should fit onto a max 3 pages. Do not delete images from your phone. See example
Upload to Canvas. You will have a one-on-one to choose the best composition to use as your reference for your still life.
Once you have chosen your image that you will use for your project, enlarge the photo to be approximately to 8in X 11IN. Email it to be to print.
Using a ruler, measure and draw out a 1in X1 in grid on top of your photo.
On the 9inX 12in paper, draw out a 1/2 in border. Then measure and draw out a 1in X1 in grid in the inside rectangle. DRAW THE GRID LIGHTLY!! You will erasing the lines once you are done transferring your drawing
Use the reference photo to draw out picture onto the 9in X 12in paper. DRAW LIGHTLY! You will be accessed on the quality of your craftsmanship
