Registration Deadline Approaching for NPRC’s Spring 2022 Semester-Classes Held Locally

Do your future plans include taking college courses? Northern PA Regional College (NPRC)’s Spring 2022 semester begins Wednesday, January 19th, and registration opens soon! Over 30 courses are being offered including: Cyber Crime, Business and Professional Communication, Industrial Safety, Child Development, and many more. These courses are part of six associate degrees – Applied Technology, Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Early Childhood Education, Liberal Studies, and Social Sciences. Of course, if someone is not interested in pursuing an associate degree at this time, they can choose the course or courses they need for personal or professional development or take courses to transfer towards a degree program at another college or university.


These courses are perfect for recent high school graduates, mid-career adults seeking to advance in their career or begin a new one, and even current high school juniors and seniors who meet eligibility requirements and want to earn college credits while still in high school. This program is designed to be affordable, with state funding helping to keep tuition costs low. Students with a high school diploma or GED pay just $185 per credit. Current high school students pay just $60 per credit. Financial aid and scholarship opportunities are available.


These courses will be offered at the Education Council’s Coudersport and Port Allegany offices, as well as more than 20 additional locations throughout northwest and north central Pennsylvania. Instructors teach classes live (real-time), and interactive television (ITV) allows all students to simultaneously view and interact with each other.

Registration Open for NPRC’s Emergency Medical Responder Course

The Northern Pennsylvania Regional College (NPRC) acknowledges the difficulties faced by EMS and fire service organizations related to recruitment, training, and retention of first responders throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. To better assist emergency services organizations accomplish their training goals, NPRC has taken the necessary steps to become an accredited EMS Educational Training Institute.


The 68-hour Emergency Medical Responder program presents the technical knowledge and skills necessary for certification as a Basic Emergency Medical Responder. Students are introduced to various lifesaving skills including CPR, airway management, patient assessment, basic medical and trauma care, and more.

This course meets Mondays and Wednesdays, January 24 to March 23, 2022 from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m. at the Seneca Highlands CTC in Port Allegany, in addition to other sites. The course fee is $475 per person. To learn more, email workforcedev@rrcnpa.org or call (844) 350-7729.

Information Session Announced for Penn College’s Practical Nursing Course


Penn College will offer a Practical Nursing course this fall. This full-time clock hour program will start September 20, 2021 and students will graduate in the fall of 2022. Classroom instruction in theory and nursing skills is provided by qualified nursing instructors in Wellsboro and Coudersport. Affiliation with UPMC allows for clinical experiences at UPMC Wellsboro and UPMC Cole. Other local healthcare affiliates are also utilized.


Graduates earn a certificate in Practical Nursing and are eligible to sit for the NCLEX-PN exam for licensure (LPN). Graduates find jobs in hospitals, long-term care facilities, home health agencies, private homes, physician offices, and other health-related offices.

An Information Session is planned to acquaint prospective students with the program on Thursday, June 3rd at 6:30 p.m. at the Education Council’s Coudersport office at 5 Water Street. Registration is Now Open for NPRC’s Summer A and Summer B Terms


Northern PA Regional College (NPRC) is accepting registrations for its Summer A 2021 and Summer B 2021 semesters. Summer A runs June 7th to August 5th. Six courses are being offered: Environmental Biology, Writing II, Industrial Safety, Hydraulics and Pneumatics, Math and College Reasoning, and Foundations of Math. Summer B runs June 7th to July 1st. Four courses are being offered: Instructional and Classroom Design for Early Childhood Curricula, History Without Borders, Introduction to Philosophy, and Introduction to Psychology.

Instructors teach classes live (real-time), and interactive television (ITV) allows all students to simultaneously view and interact with each other. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, summer 2021 semester courses will be offered virtually. Instructors will teach classes remotely, and students will attend from their computers. They will still all be able to view and interact with each other from their computers.
