I start work at 6 am reviewing overnight emails from my managed systems. At 7:30 AM have a team meeting until 8 AM going over any issues that teammates have and upcoming events/projects. From 8 AM – 4:30 PM I work on any incident tickets that have come in or service requests that are still being worked on. During 8.5 hours of break/fix ticket managements I also answer questions from the team / service desk about non-employee account access issues and field any emails that come in related to our non-employee management system.
My classes at university involving SQL and databases provided the most direct benefit for my current position in information security.
I’m sure as with everything currently AI will be pushed more into Identity and Access Management as it is being pushed everywhere. For my job specifically, I find myself doing less and less technical work as systems evolve and manage more behind the scenes. I am doing more administrative work and problem solving for when systems are not working as intended.
The only current AI being used by my organization for Identity and access management is by our Identity Management Platform for role based accesses to determine common accesses across our organization.

Communication (talking to people can be a challenge - especially when communication is often not in person)
Time Management
How important clear communication and expectations are for both working with coworkers and end users. The amount of confusion that can happen between emails most of the time can be solved within a minute of a teams or phone call.
