Literature review focusing on the mechanism and hypothesized outcomes of Metacognitive Recognition and Insight Therapy on patients experiencing early psychosis.
Research poster showcasing chemical, biological, and computational aspects of a drug discovery lab. Lab technique as well as higher-order theory are all utilized throuhgout this research.
Presentation on Congenital Insensitivity to Pain and Anhidrosis Syndrome (CIPA) as a part of a neuroanatomy lab to demonstrate clinical correlation of educaiton gained during class.
Reflection: My three artifacts reflect my growing ability to analyze scientific information and apply it to real-world medical contexts as I prepare for a career in medicine. Through my literature review on MERIT-based therapy for patients experiencing early psychosis, I developed skills in critically evaluating research and understanding how psychological treatments can impact patient outcomes. My CIPA case study presentation strengthened my clinical reasoning and ability to assess complex patient situations from multiple perspectives. Additionally, my research presentation on a drug discovery lab using a FRET assay allowed me to engage with experimental methods and interpret laboratory data related to compound efficacy. Together, these experiences helped me build strong analytical, research, and communication skills. This growth supports my goal of attending medical school by preparing me to integrate research, clinical reasoning, and evidence-based decision-making in patient care.
