Plagiarism: Plagiarism, the use of another person’s or group’s ideas or writings without acknowledging the use, is a serious offense. Anyone caught plagiarizing will receive a zero on the assignment and will be referred to the IUN’s disciplinary officers.
Please note that plagiarism is an especially important topic to watch out for in this class. For example, if you want to use an image in an assignment and you take it from online, you must let me know. Any use of material not your own should be noted. (Note: I encourage you to use sources. In a business setting, you should not make up information. You can look it up. All you need to do it tell me that you looked it up and where you got the information from.)
AI Writing: AI technologies can help you come up with ideas, but do not use them to write your documents. You are responsible for writing your essays and responses, and you will not learn to write better if you let a program do it for you. Any assignment that shows up as with over a 60% chance written by AI on an AI detector will be given a zero with no chance to make it up. If it happens more than once, you will be referred to IUN’s disciplinary officers. (Note: AI can be very helpful in writing, but you must use it ethically, especially in a classroom setting.)
All of your assignments this semester, including discussion posts, go through a plagiarism checker and an AI generator checker. Any assignment with over 28% on the plagiarism checker or 60% on the AI generator checker will be given a zero.
