What does participation look like?
In-person: Beginning in the fall of 2022 with our most current study, research participation will be in-person! We will be scheduling participants to come in and participate in some tasks that will provide insight to their development, learning, and abilities of language. We also have a variety of questionnaires available to parents, asking about things such as what words your child understands and uses, what languages are spoken in your home, and how your child solves problems. Participants will also be playing some fun games with our team of researchers! Here are some pictures of our lab space and you can learn more about our researchers here.
We understand that having your child participate in scientific research might sound a bit unusual or scary. We promise that it isn't! All of our research activities are designed to be totally safe and fun for kids! Here are a few example of what kinds of questions you may be asked and some videos your child may see!

What do I get for participating?
Our prizes differ depending on the study, but we can promise that you and your child will have a fun and interesting experience! You can also be proud knowing that you and your child are contributing to what we know about children's development! Some studies will also offer reimbursemnent for your time. In these instances, we will let you know BEFORE scheduling your visit!
