Why Health Services Management?
I chose to pursue a degree in Health Services Management because I wanted to continue helping patients just in a non-clinical setting. I want to be part of the reason patients have better access to healthcare services, feel more confident in understanding the insurance plans they choose, and experience improvements in the quality of care they receive. Whether it’s through analyzing data, streamlining processes, or advocating for individuals, I want my work to make a real difference. I’ve seen firsthand what it’s like for people to go without healthcare or not fully understand the importance of accessing it, and it made me passionate about wanting to educate and advocate for those who need it most.

Lampwork Bead Making
In my free time, I enjoy discovering new hobbies and finding creative ways to express myself. Lately, I’ve been interested in trying pottery, baking, digital drawing, and even glass lampwork bead making. I love the idea of working with my hands and learning new skills that let me unwind while also creating something meaningful. Whether it’s shaping clay, experimenting with new recipes, or designing digital art, I’m always excited to try something new and explore different sides of my creativity. I also love spending quality time with my friends and family. The time I share with them means a lot to me because they’ve been by my side through every step of my journey whether it was navigating school, facing challenges, or just needing a listening ear. Their support, kind words, and encouragement have made all the difference.
My future goals include finding a career in healthcare that truly aligns with my values and allows me to make a real impact. I eventually plan to earn my master’s degree to continue growing in the field and expanding my opportunities. One of my biggest passions is educating my community about healthcare and improving access to the services they need.
I believe health literacy is extremely important especially in communities where healthcare topics are often seen as taboo or too complex to talk about. I want to help break those barriers and create safe spaces where people feel comfortable asking questions, having conversations, and learning about their health. My goal is to be someone who not only supports better systems behind the scenes but also encourages real engagement and empowerment within the community.
