J411 leveraged business strategy and related strategic concepts to help me learn critical thinking skills. This course introduced me to tools that helped me develop my critical thinking skills while evaluating the strategies of Starbucks, Tesla, and Costco. I assess the dynamics of the environment in which they compete and make decisions regarding the future direction of the business.
Tesla & Costco
Summary: In J411, I collaborated with my team to complete various assignments focused on business strategy, specifically analyzing companies like Starbucks, Tesla, and Costco. This hands-on approach allowed us to explore strategic concepts in depth and apply them to real-world scenarios.
Reflection: Through these assignments, I gained a deeper understanding of how companies formulate their strategies and the critical factors influencing their decisions. I also learned how to create effective strategies for a business, skills that will be invaluable if I choose to pursue a leadership role, such as a CEO, in the future. This course has not only enhanced my critical thinking abilities but also equipped me with practical tools for strategic decision-making, which will serve me well in my career, particularly in auditing and beyond.
This assignment was the first assignment we completed as a team. We had to read about Tesla and analyze their strategy.
For this assignment, we had to read a Costco Case in your textbook. We also had to read about Whole Foods and Amazon. Then use the information from these articles and what we learned in class to fill out the document.
This was our final assignment and it built off the previous assignment as well as what we learned the whole year. The teacher really made this assignment an honors. She made the other honors students and I pick our topic, do research, and prove our findings.
