Working in a team for the simulation was an eye-opening experience that demonstrated the importance of communication, organization, and unity in achieving success. Managing the company required our team to make complex decisions involving marketing, finance, operations, and production. Early in the simulation, I quickly learned that being a cohesive team was essential. When everyone was on the same page; sharing ideas openly, clarifying goals, and aligning our strategies, we were able to make stronger, data-driven decisions that improved company performance.
However, when team members were disconnected or unclear about expectations, it became difficult to collaborate effectively. Miscommunication or differing interpretations of our goals often led to inconsistent decisions and weaker results. We experienced troubles like this during the start of the project due to lack of knowledge regarding the project as well as a shift in company roles. This taught me that teamwork isn’t just about dividing tasks, it’s about ensuring that everyone has a complete understanding of the objectives, expectations, and reasoning behind each decision.
