In my journey map I highlighted my internship with the Indinana State Fairgrounds in the ISF Emergency Operations Center, my internship with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Human Rights Violators and War Crimes Center, and my future goal to work for the IU Police Department as an IU Cadet Officer. These are the three goals that I will discuss below.
The first leadership goal that I've already accomplished was interning for the Indiana State Fairgrounds and Events Center in the ISF Emergency Operations Center. In this internship I was the lead dispatcher in the EOC, and I worked with multiple agencies accross fire, EMS, law enforcment and more, to respond to real-time incidents and emergencies across the entire fairgrounds.
The second leadership goal that I've already accomplished is working as the lead intern for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Human Rights Violators and War Crimes Center. My work included completing an extensive and large investigation assigned to me.
For my final leadership goal, I have not yet completed it, however, I intend to work for the Indiana University Police Department as an IU Cadet Officer so that I can attend the IU Police Academy and work as a part-time police officer for the IUPD. With this experience I will attain many skills that will shape me into an even greater leader than I already am.
Every skill I've developed, technique I've learned, and opportunity I've taken so far will all contribute to my professional goals of working for the Federal Bureau of Intelligence. I will be a strong candidate because I've worked with multiple agencies from the local to federal levels, I've learned how to apply meaningful techniques that are vital in my career, and I've developed skills which are valuable in accomplishing the mission of the FBI.
I've set exceedingly high expectations for my engaged learning and leadership goals because I am committed to succeeding in my career. Assuming that I complete them and continue to perform highly in any other opportunities I take during my undergrad years, I will be prepared to exceed as a powerful leader in my career.
