About the Internship

The goal of the internship site is to reach out to various healthcare professionals and students, via Zoom, to discuss topics regarding public health. These health professionals also have the option to share their real patient cases amongst the clinicians to answer questions they have about the patients' health concerns. This work impacts the patient's outcome, the clinicians broader thinking and learning process, and students entering the field seeing these discussions that take place.

The big picture of their work is to disseminate emerging research and best practices in patient care associated with whichever ECHO session with providers and allied health professionals, in order to advocate for people in need of various services. ECHO sessions use collaborative care strategies to understand the situation at hand and use each other's ideas in order to fully advocate for the patients/clients.
