After SIP, I’ll be wrapping up my time at the J.W. Marriott by the end of this semester. Next semester, I’m shifting my focus by working on campus to stay more connected to the university community and concentrate more on my studies. I still aim to build experience in event management, but this shift will help me balance academics with campus involvement as I continue preparing for my career goals.
To make sure my next steps happen, I’ve already been working with the on-campus job placement office to secure a position that aligns with my schedule and interests. Focusing on a campus job will help me create stronger connections within the university, which is beneficial for networking and developing relationships with mentors. I’ve secured this next step by actively reaching out to find jobs and also getting involved with the executive boards of some kelley organizations. This change supports my career goal by keeping me engaged in the business environment while ensuring I have time to focus on academics, making me more prepared for leadership in my future event management business.
