Communication
Team Work
Professionalism
The Jag Action Week was all about communication, I needed to work with my coworkers to make sure the events would follow through as planned. There were also a lot of presentations and advertising at our workshops and tablings. This was also why team work was a big aspect of making the week successful. During tableing I would talk about the grant while my co-worker would talk about peer evaluations. During the workshop we also split the work so that the event went well. I also had to show professionalism during this week as I was tabeling and while I was presenting at the conference because I wanted to represnt IEL in a positive light. Another project that I helped with was the Peer Consultations. I worked with students looking for volunteer opportunities and paired them with organizations they would be interested in. I wanted to listen and understand where there interests were stemming from and what organization in our list felt like they matched those desires. This was made easier with our newly updates community partner sheet which I worked on along with my team over the two semesters.
Communication: I communicated with a lot of nonprofits about updating our databases. This involved calling and emailing them. It really taught me the importance of communicating in a clear and organized manner so that others can effecitively understand. I also worked with my coworkers on the events throughout the year as well as smaller projects. Since we all have different schedules, communication was directly connected to our success.
Team Work: Being a Civic Activator that is good at the role means working well with the other Activators. We needed to divide and conquer sometimes. We also looked over each others work to make sure that we were being professional and reaching expectations. I was accountable for individual and team responsibilities and deliverables.
Professionalism: I learned a lot about being professional through this role. I worked on creating email templates that would grab the readers attention while still being at a professional level. I also had to professionally communicate with the non-profit organizations on the database. This meant maintaining a positive connection with the organizations. I had to have a attention to detail, resulting in few errors in my work.
