Overview:
I helped set up the first ever JAG Action Week this past fall. It consisted of a week long program with an informative workshop, daily tabling, and open drop in hours for students looking to start or improve their applications. It was an interactive and informative week to make students aware of the opportunities available with the grant.
My Role and Responsibilities:
I helped prepare the flyers with Gaby our Lead Activator. I also participated in the daily tabling to provide information to students in campus center about the Grant as well as activities. I worked on preparing as well as presenting at the workshop. This included helping Gaby edit our previous presentation to make sure all the students questions would be answered. During the workshop me and Gaby presented the presentation as well as answered the students questions about their applications for their clubs and organizations. Since it was also the same week as Halloween I also prepare activities for our various events. I created the bookmark activity for tabling which drew in quite a few students as well as a pumpkin activity for our workshop. I also worked closely with the rest of the team to make sure that everything would be ready for the events.
Skills Demonstrated:
I worked well with the rest of the team to execute our planned vision. Student communication and engagement were an important part of this project. Innovation and development with the presentation and the activities.
Campus Impact:
The Jag Action Week was impactful in letting organizations and individuals about the opportunity offered from this Grant. Through tabling and the workshop we were able to work one on one with students about questions prevalent to their particular situation.
