The music of Breach of Space hopes to combine the nostalgia of classic & camp science fiction entertainment with modern electronic & lo-fi aesthetics. The merger of these two aesthetics represents the interaction between the two primary forces in Breach of Space: the inhabitants of the planet & the invading corporation.
Our soundtrack will be implemented using FMOD, allowing for the soundtrack to adapt to the player's actions. The varying layers of intensity ebb & flow with the game world's threat level, as well as the area the player is currently inhabiting.
Below is a track used in the initial teaser trailer for Breach of Space, composed by Christopher Butcher.

Much like our art style, the sound effects of Breach of Space bring to mind those present in classic science fiction stories like Star Trek, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and Star Wars, as well as other retro-futuristic entertainment. These too will use FMOD integration within Unity.
Each room in the habitat will be provided its own ambiance, allowing for immersion in the space.
Using FMOD Studio, the music of Breach of Space will react to the changing environment as the player interacts with it. The music will adapt to levels of Chaos in the world as well as how stealthy the player is being.
In addition, each room acts as a specific biome allowing for the player to gain a better mental model of where they are in the game world.
