Day 1

Students were asked to observe what happens to the 'land' during a water event.

Students created their own home or vehicle to interact with the water event. 

Students observed the effects of a water event on our homes and transportation.

Students discussed what a major water event and/or water events can do over time to our land.

1) Students planned a class experiment to collect data on the effects of slope (angle of soil pan) and the movement of soil (depth of soil at top middle and bottom of pan) after a 'water event'.

2) Students made observations and recorded results with their groups, then ran their same trial (slope - 0, 15, 30, or 45 degrees) a second time. 

3) Student also discovered that 'pollutants' may be in the soil and get carried into other water sources, such as swimming or drinking water. 

4) The class examined their results across their group trials.
