Our school hosted the project’s partners from Poland, Chezch Republic and Hungary. The participants, because of Covid restrictions, decided to stay in the Capys Hotel just next to our school.
They all arrived the day before the meeting.
On the first day the guests were welcomed by the headmistress and then the students played some icebreaking activities, after the teachers had presented the goals of the mobility and the history of Beatrice of Aragon, also called Beatrice of Naples, and her importance and benefit for the Italian and Neapolitan culture. The school offered a coffee break before visiting the school’s facilities, highlighting the laboratories which were presented by Italian students. For lunch the group gathered in the central square of Capua for a pizza and then the Italian students showed all Capua’s monuments linked to the Reinassance.
The second day was spent in Pompei, focusing on the aspect of the ancient classic history as a link and inspiration to the Renaissance age.. After Pompei, the group visited Hercolaneum too.
The third day was dedicated to the visit of the city of Caserta’s Royal Palace. The guests visited the magnificent gardens of the Royal Palace included the English gardens and the royal apartments.
On the fourth day the group moved to Naples where they enjoyed a tour of the city and discovered important places linked to Beatrice of Aragon and the Renaissance: SAN PIETRO MARTIRE CURCH, where the body of Beatrice of Aragon is buried, SANT’ANNA CHURCH, were she was crowned, and the main monuments recalling Renaissance in Naples.
During the fifth and last day the students were busy in school activities, rewarding the evaluation of the project and the farewell party which was held in a restaurant’s hall near the school.
