On the first day the Dutch group attended the Simone Weil main school. They participated in a few ice-breaking activities and, after a snack break, we headed to Treviglio’s station to catch the train to Bergamo city.
In Bergamo we visited the city through a photo scavenger hut aimed to photograph the most important places of Bergamo, such as Piazza Mercato delle Scarpe and the Tower of Gombito, unfortunately it rained a lot but we still had a lot of fun. After these activities we took the train back to Treviglio and we all had a delicious dinner at a restaurant close to the school.
On the second day we all met up at half past eight in front of the school and we took a three hour bus ride to Dossena. First we walked for about an hour to arrive at the Dossena mines, there we took a guided tour through the mines and learned about the history of the miners. After a lunch break in the afternoon we went on another walk to reach the Tibetan bridge, one of the longest and highest Tibetan bridges in the world. Crossing it was a bit scary, but also very exciting. Afterward we headed back to the bus and returned to Treviglio.
On the third day the Dutch students participated in activities organized by the artistic students. The activities were focused on “intertwining”, an artistic technique consisting of interlacing threads to create a pattern or artistic image. After these activities we all went together for a walk through Treviglio, stopping at some of the city's important landmarks. For example we had a guided tour of the Treviglio tower, and from the top we saw an amazing view. Following a free afternoon, we all had dinner in a pizzeria in Treviglio and did karaoke, which was a lot of fun.
On the final day we went on an ecological walk through Treviglio and the Dutch finished their “interlacing” activity. After the walk we had a free afternoon where we all divided into groups and did different activities, for example a group of us went to Cassano D’Adda and had lunch by the Adda river. In the evening we all went out for dinner and had a great time.
