While collecting and processing research sources on this topic, our project also set out to write a narrative analysis of the extended history of the Nikkei community of southeastern Idaho. The link here leads to this history, using the story map format. Fine research already exists on elements of Japanese American history in Idaho, but it often neglects the main center of Nikkei population in Pocatello and Blackfoot, and those stories often end just after the Second World War. We emphasize here that the story of this community's history continues well past the trauma of the war, through the remainder of the 20th century. (Note: the references and conclusion on this site are still in draft form as of 2/2022.)
