THE SPANISH EXPERIENCE - BARCELONA

Course Description

Embark on an exciting journey to Barcelona where you will immerse themselves in the Spanish language and culture. Students will have the opportunity to discover the history, art and cuisine of the city through a walking exploration of the Ramblas, Plaça Catalunya and the Gothic neighbourhood. Practice the basics of the Rumba Catalana or Flamenco and learn how to prepare Paella and Tapas dishes. Work alongside volunteers at the Alella Green Tech urban farm and visit iconic sites like Parc Güell and the Sagrada Família.

The challenge of this experience to create a Gaudi-inspired mosaic.

This experience counts towards MYP Service as Action and the Creativity and Service strand of DP CAS.

By immersing themselves in the Spanish language and culture, students will be inspired to explore new horizons and broaden their perspectives. They will develop competence in language skills, culinary skills, and sports, as well as historical and architectural knowledge. The trip will also foster compassion and empathy for different cultures, as well as develop leadership and teamwork skills. Ultimately, this trip will empower students to become changemakers in their communities, applying the skills and knowledge they have gained to make a positive impact on the world.
