CAS experiences are the activities, projects, and initiatives that contribute to your growth through Creativity, Activity, and Service.
A meaningful CAS experience should involve active participation, personal engagement, and opportunities for learning & development.
CAS experiences may be school-based or outside of school, and can be completed individually or with others.
Students are required to complete at least one supervised CAS experience in each strand: Creativity, Activity, and Service. These experiences may be supervised or unsupervised.
Supervised Experiences
Supervised experiences involve a qualified supervisor (e.g. a coach, instructor, faculty advisor, mentor) who supports your participation and development throughout the experience. For school-based activities, the designated faculty or staff advisor serves as the CAS supervisor
Unsupervised Experiences
Students may also pursue independent CAS experiences without a designated formal supervisor.
For all experiences, students are responsible for:
Setting clear goals and outlining the experience in ManageBac
Adding regular reflections that demonstrate learning and progress
Uploading appropriate evidence, such as photos, videos, certificates, or work samples
At the end of the commitment period, students should request a supervisor review through ManageBac to verify their participation and engagement.
NOTE: Supervisor reviews are not required for unsupervised experiences. However, approval and completion will be verified by your CAS Advisor or CAS Coordinator through your ManageBac portfolio.
ISKL offers a wide range of co-curricular opportunities that can contribute to your CAS programme. Explore the options below to find activities, clubs, events, and initiatives that align with your interests and goals:
Global Action Programme (GAP) (which is an ISKL graduation requirement)
High School Service Learning Clubs
School Events and Productions: Performing Arts, PTA Sponsored Events (e.g., International Fest), etc.
Cross-Divisional Partnerships (e.g. High School students working with Elementary/Middle School students)
Students are encouraged to pursue CAS opportunities beyond ISKL, including sports, arts, music, service organizations, cultural programs, and other structured activities.
For a non-ISKL CAS activity:
Create a CAS experience entry in ManageBac.
Upload reflections and evidence of your participation and progress throughout the experience.
Request a supervisor review at the end of the commitment period through ManageBac.
Examples of evidence may include photos, videos, certificates, work samples, or other relevant documentation.
