There are 8 subject groups in the MYP:
Language and Literature
Language acquisition
Sciences
Mathematics
Individuals and Societies
Design
Physical and health education
Arts
Within these students will study different subjects either as independent courses or as integrated, interdisciplinary units. In grades 6-8 students will have courses from each subject group to ensure a good balance and variety at the early stages of the MYP. In grades 9-10 students will have some flexibility in terms of course choices so that they can start focusing on the subjects that they are planning to continue studying in grades 11-12. The school guides students in their subject choices to make sure that their journey through the MYP is consistent and meets the programme requirements.Â
The tables below show the subjects that students study in G6-8 and G9-10.
Below you will find the course overviews for each grade level. These overviews provide information about the different MYP subjects offered at ISH, including details about what students will learn, what skills they will develop and how they will be assessed.
