Students should receive feedback on assessments throughout the course, usually via ManageBac. These assessments form the basis for semester grades in grade 11 (January and June) and first semester of grade 12 (January).
Predicted grades are the teacher's best judgement of what a student will score on the final assessments in an IB course. There are two types of predicted grades: college and IB.
Universities will ask for predicted grades in order to make an offer to a student as they apply in the autumn of grade 12. We also give a college predicted grade to help students make choices about what they might do after high school. It is important that these predicted grades are as reliable as possible, both so that students can make realistic choices about their futures, and so that ISH maintains its reputation with universities for giving reliable predicted grades. While students should discuss predicted grades with teachers, it would be inappropriate to ask for a higher predicted grade.
The IB also asks for predicted grades. These will not affect the marks they receive on their exams and assessments. These predicted grades are used for semester grades of the last semester of grade 12 (June).
