Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to the new academic year! We are excited to begin this journey of learning and discovery together with you and your child(ren) as part of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP).
In the PYP, we focus on nurturing the whole child, academically, socially, emotionally, and ethically. Through inquiry-based, concept-driven learning, students are encouraged to explore meaningful questions, develop critical thinking skills, and make connections across subject areas and to the world around them. As they develop the attributes of the IB Learner Profile, our students grow as caring, principled, and open-minded individuals who contribute positively to their communities.
We recognize that a strong partnership between home and school plays an essential role in supporting each child’s learning and well-being. Your involvement, encouragement, and open communication are valued as we work together to foster a caring, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
This Family Guide provides important information to support your child’s transition into the new school year, including details about the first days of school and welcome messages from each grade level. We look forward to a year of shared learning, growth, and partnership.
Joanna Christoffersen
Primary School Principal / IB Coordinator for the Primary Years Programme

In the primary school, we use a digital portfolio and communications tool called Toddle. Toddle gives you learning samples, reminders, class news, photos and videos, homework information and information about you child's current learning unit. In addition, important messages from the primary school principal and the school office, including the link to the weekly Friday School Newsletter, are sent via Toddle. You can read more about the platform here. To access Toddle, please follow these steps:
For Returning Families: You can log in using your usual credentials.
For New Families:
Download and open the Toddle Family app or webpage (https://www.toddleapp.com/).
Sign in with the email address you registered with on Open Apply.
Click on "Sign In."
You will receive a One-Time Password (OTP) in your registered email.
Use this OTP to log into the Toddle Family app or webpage.
You will be able to see your child's class (A or B) on Toddle starting Thursday, August 7th, when we open the 2025-2026 school year. You will receive your child's class list via Toddle on Friday, August 8th.
Please note: All students will temporarily show as "Class A" on your August invoice. This is because our billing system needs a class assigned before we finalise placements. Please disregard this—your child's actual class will be announced on Toddle on August 7th.
The Hellerup Campus is nut-free (details on the Wellbeing page).
The school lunch service for PYP will begin on Tuesday, 12th August, which is the second day of school.
Please make sure you read the following documents :
PYP4-5 students are required to bring their own laptop from the first week of school (details on the Technology & Resources page).
For safety reasons, it is necessary to enroll in Morning Club (from 7:00 to 8:20 ) and in ASCP Full-Time (from school dismissal until 17:00) if students need to stay on the school campus outside of school hours.
For PYP1-PYP4, the first day for Morning Club and ASCP is Tuesday, August 12th for the students who are currently already enrolled. The opening hours for Morning Club are from 7:00- 8.20 and ASCP is operative from 14:20 (13:30 on Fridays) until 17:00.
New ISH families: it is possible to sign up for ASCP throughout the month of August, and start immediately. You can find the ASCP enrollment form here.
PYP 4-5 students can enroll to RYAC ( local youth club, from Copenhagen´s Kommune).
Automatic Re-enrollment Process:
Children in Pre-K through PYP3 who were enrolled in ASCP during the 2024-25 school year will automatically continue in Full-time ASCP for 2025-26. If you want to switch to Morning Club Only instead, please complete the ASCP plan request form. If you don't want your child to continue in ASCP, submit the ASCP withdrawal form.
Special Situations:
Pre-K families: When your child moves to Kindergarten, ASCP will no longer be included in the monthly programme fee and will be billed separately at DKK 1,600/month. All Pre-K students will automatically be rolled over to ASCP Full-time. If you do not want your child to join, you must complete the ASCP withdrawal form.
PYP3 moving to PYP4: Your child will automatically continue in ASCP unless you take action. If you prefer your child to join RYAC Fritidsklub instead, you must complete the ASCP withdrawal form. See RYAC information above for details about this alternative option.
PYP4 moving to PYP5: Your child will be automatically withdrawn from ASCP as the programme is not available for PYP5 students.
If you have any questions, please contact our ASCP Coordinator Ms. Delcilene De Fraga at ddefraga@ish.dk.
