-John Dewey
Reflection is an integral part of the learning process. As teachers, it allows us to learn more about ourselves and our practices and aids us in improving those practices.
Teaching students to reflect on their work by noticing and correcting their own mistakes as well as which activities and behaviors allowed them to be successful is also a vital part of the learning experience. Reflection is not an ingrained behavior. It is a behavior that must be taught, practiced, and modeled. Too often this part of the process is forgotten or ignored, but it is probably one of the most essential parts of PBL.
We have included a number of resources for both teachers and students. For teachers, there are resources for self-reflection, as well as for teaching this practice to students. For students, there are a number of resources to use in conjunction with their work to help them better understand their own learning and growth.
