Mapping the Project

Mapping the Project is the process of organizing the Tasks and Activities that will encompass the entire project. The map will help you plan the content as well as helping you ensure you have the time and resources to complete the project.

You will likely find yourself moving regularly between the Mapping and Resources sections of your planning form.

One Option for a Process

• Brainstorm a chart, set of lists, etc. Don't worry about the order of item, just try to identify the main points in terms of your students

• Now start putting those learning events in order based on what students need to do and learn in an order that makes sense. Consider this a draft, not final.
• Create a plan in terms of school days that indicates what students will do and learn each day as well as how you will support that learning.

• Return to your assessment plan, revise if necessary and then indicate on your map when assessments will occur.

This is a great time to return to the expectations of what should be included in PBL to see what you still need to include or develop. Even if your plan is still rough or barely started, check off what is in the plan.
