Individual Counseling

Counselors meet with students around academic, personal/social, and college/career readiness. Below are some reasons you may need to see your counselor:

• Transitioning into Mankato West

• Academic Course Planning

• Post high school planning & career development

• Personal/social development (support and counseling)

• Communication and consultation with staff and parents regarding individual needs

• Referral to appropriate in-school and/or community resources

• College and career resources

Large Group Counseling

Counselors meet with students in large groups for the following reasons throughout the school year:

• Career Exploration

• Personal Inventory Assessments & Results Interpretations (Naviance)

• Course Selection & Registration

• ACT/SAT Test Preparation

• Scholarships & Financial Aid Information

Small Group Counseling

Counselors may also provide small group counseling for students throughout the school year depending on the needs of the students:

• Academic Support

• Anxiety/Stress

• Family Change

• Grief & Loss
