Shannon Anderson was born and raised in Colorado and did her undergraduate studies at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Originally a flutist, Mrs. Anderson first had the desire to become a music teacher in grade 6. She holds a master's degree from Lesley University and a principal's license from Hamline University. She moved to Minnesota with her husband David in 2005 and has four children: Jackson, Emma, William and Andrew. She enjoys hiking, yoga, paddle boarding, running and spending quality time with her family, friends and two wiener dogs, Reverend Honeysuckle Sugarbottom and Captain Sparkle Fingers.
Her first year teaching in White Bear Lake was the 2005/2006 school year at Central Middle School. She moved to South Campus in the 2008/2009 school year. She has enjoyed taking the Wind Ensemble to the MMEA Midwinter Clinic in 2010, performing in the Eau Claire Jazz Festival every other year and performing and sight seeing with Band students in New York City. She is also a staff member of the Minnesota Ambassadors of Music and looks forward to taking a 9th trip to Europe with nominated students in 2024.
