WBLAHS Theatre is proud to have student crews in technical, stage, and costume arts. Led by Morgan Baumbach and Nathaniel Glewwe, WBL theatre trains crews in stage management, sound design and engineering, lighting production and design, spotlight, video projection, backstage crew, makeup, hair, and house services. Our crews can range from 3 people to well over 60. WBL Theatre participates in the Hennepin Theatre Trusts Spotlight Education program and the MSHSL One Act competition. Participation in crew offers a great opportunity to be involved in theatre, social events, and of course performances!
To sign up for crews, you must attend a crew meeting where information about the shows and crew positions are shared. You must then fill out a crew sign-up form. Crew meetings for the musical are typically the third weekend of September, for the One Act- at the beginning of January, and for the Spring Play - at the beginning of April. Keep an eye out for posts on our social media, and listen for overhead announcements for information about when the crew meetings will take place.
Crews also offer lettering opportunities in theatre! With participation in tech, backstage, hair, or makeup crew, students will earn 25 points, and for participation in ushering, or concessions, students can earn 5 points per day.
