Pit Orchestra

The pit orchestra for the high school musical is an auditioned group open to all high school instrumental musicians. The kinds of instruments that are in the pit orchestra vary from year to year depending on the orchestration for the musical, but we have had students be a part of the pit as pianists, drummers, percussionists, woodwind instrumentalists, brass players, electric bass or guitar players, and orchestral string instrumentalists. 

Information and instructions about auditioning for the pit orchestra will be given to students in the first week of the school year. The auditions themselves typically occur during the second week of school. 

Once the members of the pit orchestra are selected, students have approximately 2 rehearsals per week from 3:30 PM - 5:30 PM.  Beginning late October, we join with the rest of the cast and crew for rehearsals 5 days a week.
