Dear Gibbs Families

The Rochester Public Schools community is mourning the horrific death of George Floyd. It is heart wrenching to be physically distanced from our staff and students during this difficult time. Despite the distance, we want you to know you are loved, supported, and that you matter.

We are holding listening sessions where families can connect with other families to provide an opportunity to talk about what is happening in our community, state and world around the area of racism and social injustice. The goal is to create a safe space to be heard. We will provide a virtual space for conversations to support understanding of race, racism, and the impact of racism. There will be Gibbs staff at all the listening sessions.

Please feel free to join a listening session. If you are not able to make it to a meeting and want to have conversation please reach out to Ms. Howard or myself.
