HOW TO GET STARTED:

Where should I look for classroom information?

  • Make sure that your student is enrolled in their teacher’s Google Classroom. Click on our Google Classroom link to find information on what students are expected to complete arranged by date. Please make sure that your child has logged into their Google Classroom; their teacher’s name should be visible, and they may need to click "Join." If they're already enrolled, then all they should have to do is click on it.

  • An email from your teacher will be coming outlining the fifth grade expectations.

  • If your student usually has math with a different teacher than their homeroom teacher, they will be switching to their homeroom teacher for math while we are participating in distance learning.

When and how often should I check for announcements, updates, and assignments?

  • Students and families should check their Google Classroom daily (Monday-Friday) for updates, lessons, and assignments from their teacher.

  • Parents, please check your email frequently as your teacher will be using this to contact you and your child to schedule Zoom Meetings and phone calls with your child.

  • All teachers are planning to have a 10:00am Zoom meeting daily with students. This is not a part of their required assignments, but is a great opportunity socialize with classmates. Please keep an eye on the Google Classroom stream and emails in case the teacher needs to change the time.

How should students turn in assignments?

  • Students will be turning in assignments through Google Classroom. Most assignments will be completed on paper after watching a video lesson on Google Classroom.

If I have questions, how can I reach the teacher and get answers?

  • Teachers will be available through email from 9:15am-3:30pm daily.

  • We can set up a virtual meeting if you need personalized assistance during the above hours – please contact your teacher.
