MTSS TIERS EXPLAINED
What is Tier 1?
All students make up Tier 1, since Tier 1 students are those who receive core instruction and whole group interventions in the classroom to reach grade level standards.
What is Tier 2?
Students who do not respond adequately to Tier 1 may move into Tier 2. Tier 2 students receive individual or small group targeted interventions to help them reach grade level standards.
What is Tier 3?
Students who do not respond adequately to Tier 2 interventions may move into Tier 3. Tier 3 students receive intensive individual interventions to help them reach grade level standards.
