The National Library of Serbia plays an important role in preserving and promoting Serbian culture and history. The library was founded in 1832 and has a rich history and extensive collections, including more than six million items in various formats, such as books, manuscripts, maps, periodicals, photographs, and audiovisual materials. It is open to the public and offers a range of services, including reading rooms, digital resources, exhibitions, and cultural events.

Belgrade Library was founded in 1931 and is one of the largest and oldest library systems in Serbia. It houses over 3 million items in its collections including books, periodicals, newspapers, maps, audio and video recordings, and electronic resources.

University Library is the main library of the University of Belgrade, which is the oldest and largest university in Serbia. It was founded in 1838 and currently holds a collection of over 2.5 million items, including books, journals, newspapers, maps, and electronic resources. It also houses several special collections, including the Rare Books and Manuscripts Collection, the Collection of Serbian and South Slavic Manuscripts, and the Collection of Oriental Manuscripts.

Library of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts was founded in 1892 and currently holds a collection of over 2 million items, including books, journals, manuscripts, maps, and audiovisual materials. The SASA Library is considered to be one of the richest and most important research libraries in Serbia and the region. It offers a range of services, including reading rooms, interlibrary loan, digital resources, and research consultations. The SASA Library also houses several special collections, including the Rare Books and Manuscripts Collection, the Serbian Collection, and the Collection of Oriental Manuscripts.
