Students are required to show respect, care and consideration towards others in the KIS community.
Students are expected to demonstrate pride in themselves and the school by endeavouring to be neat and tidy and by ensuring that the school is clear of litter, bags, plates and utensils.
While at KIS students are entitled to be in a positive social environment where students can be secure, accepted and not subjected to bullying or teasing in any form.
Students are subject to school discipline when in school uniform. Equally, school regulations apply at all events and on trips organised by the school.
Students are responsible for the safekeeping of their valuables and property. All items and clothing should be clearly labelled with a name.
Air-soft or BB guns and drones are not permitted on school premises.
Smoking is strictly prohibited at school, near school, on school buses, while students are at activities or events organised by the school, or while in school uniform coming or going to school. Chewing gum is not permitted.
Students must move about the school in an orderly, sensible and courteous manner, keeping to the left on the stairs.
Be aware of your surroundings and your belongings, and look after both.
Be thoughtful, caring and supportive in your dealings with your peers, teachers and the support staff. Always say "please" and "thank you" and always announce your presence in a polite greeting or by saying "excuse me."
Respect the library and the sanctity of a calm study environment.
Please listen carefully, attentively and respectfully in assemblies, school talks and formal ceremonies.
It is not appropriate to be talking when someone is addressing you.
Please sit properly, i.e. upright, not slouched or sleeping, as an audience member in academic classes, assemblies and at formal ceremonies.
Public displays of affection (PDA) between students is considered inappropriate for the school setting. Students act respectfully towards others and should refrain from PDA on school grounds or outside whilst wearing school uniform.
Respect canteen staff. Say "please" and "thank you."
Food should not be taken out of the school canteen.
Laptops and bags are not allowed in the school canteen.
Respect lines and queues and do not cut in front of others.
All plates and utensils should be scraped clean and placed in the collection trays.
Tables should be left clean and ready for use by other members of the school community.
Lockers must be used for the storage of personal valuables and school books. Students should be able to leave items in your locker without fear of interference from others. Students must keep their locker number confidential.
Keep the locker locked when you are not using it. Never leave the door of your locker open.
If necessary, communicate with other students when opening your locker.
Bags should never be left lying on the floor.
Voice calls are not permitted during school hours. If you have to make an emergency call then please ask a Teacher for permission.
Phones should be turned off and kept in school bags or lockers at all times when school is in session from 8am to 4:20pm.
Therefore, gaming, messaging, texting are strictly prohibited during school hours.
Phones may be used after academic classes end for the day.
Phones may only be used during school hours with specific permission from a Teacher.
Phones will be immediately confiscated if it is seen in school and returned at the end of the day.
School standards apply to behaviour on school buses.
Eating and drinking are prohibited on buses.
Keep the bus clean so that it can be used by others.
Make sure that your actions do not affect the safety of other bus occupants and always heed the instructions of the bus mother and the driver.
As visitors and/or guests we are expected to behave in an exemplary and courteous manner.
Students are expected to show respect for all members of other communities.
