Example SMART Goals

Individual Planning:  By April 14 2023, 12th grade students with 25 or more absences the first semester of the 2022-2023 school year will decrease their absences by 20% from 977 to 782. 

Guidance:  The school counselor will implement guidance lessons for 9th-12th grade students on the following topics:  Introduction to School Counseling, Suicide Prevention, Dating Violence Prevention, College and Career Awareness and Human Trafficking. 

Responsive Services:  The school counselor will meet with students with suicide ideations a minimum of 4 times.

Individual Planning:  The counseling team will meet individually with each 11th & 12th grade student about their Personal Graduation Plan and postsecondary plans by the end of the year.  

System Support:  The counseling team will provide  3 parent workshops  and professional development for all staff regarding Suicide Awareness,  Drug Awareness, Bullying Awareness and Human Trafficking.

Career Exploration Fair

The counseling department collaborated with the CCMR coach and community members to organize a career fair for Singley Academy students. Community partners included, Irving Fire and Police Departments, Dallas College, Military, and other local business partners. The goal of this event was to expose students to various career/job opportunities.
