Personnel Guidelines for Proclamation 2024
Acceptable and Encouraged:
All applicable personnel in the affected content areas should be involved in the review and selection process.
Questions about the materials need to be referred to the Instructional Materials Manager, Nick Gleicher at ngleicher@irvingisd.net or by phone at 972-600-4833
Contact the Instructional Materials Manager to report the receipt of food or novelty items with/without the publisher’s company name, logo, title, etc.
All personnel involved in the process are encouraged to make objective decisions in reviewing and evaluating instructional materials.
All educators are asked to eliminate what may be perceived or construed as biased decision-making.
The invitation to display samples must be extended to all publishers who are finalists.
At no time shall classroom instruction be interrupted by a publisher representative’s visit to the school.
Not Permissible:
District personnel may not accept publisher-sponsored gifts food, novelty items, or meals or attend publisher presentations with food provided by the publisher at any point during the process.
Teachers and/or principals may not engage in oral or written communication directly or indirectly related to current adoptions during the closed period.
District personnel may not discuss instructional material evaluation-related decisions with publishers during the closed period.
Teachers shall not receive materials to pilot in their classrooms Please note that these guidelines are not all-inclusive

Online Process
Teacher Online Voting: January
Teachers of subjects to be adopted will be given access to evaluate materials online.
Teachers will log in to the district website and navigate to our Irving ISD Proclamation 2024 page to access the rubrics.
Teachers' email addresses will be collected as they evaluate the materials online.
Teachers must make a voting selection and provide justification for their vote based on the rubric and content standards and how these are met by the instructional materials selected by their vote.
All teachers found not to be teachers of subjects for adoption will have their vote disqualified.
