It even began to make considerable money selling weapons to European countries including Allies and the Axis Powers. However, Dec. 7, 1941, and the attack on Pearl Harbor changed that. Mobilization efforts and wartime production greatly decreased the unemployment rate and opened up opportunities for women and minorities such as African Americans to enter the workforce.
