About Ms. Shaw
Abria Shaw grew up in District 204 and is excited to be back as an educator. She holds a B.M. in Music Education and Vocal Performance from Northern Illinois University.
As an active performer, Abria loves bringing versatility to her singing—with a special passion for both opera and jazz—and she aims to inspire that same musical versatility in her students. She performs with the professional choir Cor Cantiamo and has sung various opera roles. Her recent achievements include 1st Place in the NANM Chicago Chapter Singing Competition and 2nd Place in the NANM Regional Competition.
In the music room, Abria strives to build an inclusive environment where every student feels seen and supported. Her goal is to empower students with healthy vocal technique, independent music-reading skills, and a love for music from diverse cultures and composers.
