In Grammar Island, continued to practice parts of speech and parts of a sentence.
We wrote about a time when we came out of our shells, just like Michael in the story we read.

In Grammar Island, continued to learn about parts of a sentence. We focused our work on linking verbs predicates with subject complements.
We continued to discuss the story "Shells". We focus on character traits and explored how they changed in our story.

In Grammar Island, continued to learn about the parts of a sentence. We focused on identifying action verb predicates, direct objects, and indirect objects.
We finally finished and shared our Fables.
We started to read the story "Shells". During our reading, we looked for unknown words and practiced looking up their definitions.

In Grammar Island, we finished learning about parts of speech and now focusing on parts of a sentence. Moving forward we will have a grammar check every Friday!
We worked on solving the "Case of Grumpy Ghost" It was tricky, but we worked together to solve the case!

In Grammar Island, we learned about prepositions. Prepositions show how TWO things are related in time or space.
We continued reading and annotating various fables. We looked for elements of fables.

This week in 3PA...
In Grammar Island, we learned about conjunctions. We remember coordinating conjunctions by FANBOYS. (for, and, not, but, or, yet, so)
We finished our work with "The Mice Council" and presented our plans for the cat.
We read and annotated the fable, "The Dog and his Reflection".
Next week, we will be creating our own fables!

This week in 3PA...
In Grammar Island, we learned about adverbs. They are words that modify verbs, adjectives, or other adverbs! We continued to diagram sentences.
We read and annotated the fable, "The Mouse Council".
In the story, the mice were afraid of the cat. They came up with a plan to put a bell on the cat so they would know when it was coming. We brainstormed ways of getting the bell on the cat's neck.

In Grammar Island, we learned about the different types of verbs; action, helping, and linking verbs.
We are starting to read Fables. We read the "Tap Dancer".
We annotated the text and discussed the setting, character traits, and theme.
