3PA Updates

This week in 3PA...

• In Grammar Island, continued working with clauses and phrases.

• We continued to work with the story, Sachiko Means Happiness.

• We created Japanese Motifs like the ones in the story.

This week in 3PA...

• In Grammar Island, learned about phrases and clauses. We also took a grammar post-test. Ask us to see our scores.

• We finished our shell writing.

• We began reading and discussing Sachiko Means Happiness.

This week in 3PA...

• In Grammar Island, continued to practice parts of speech and parts of a sentence.

• We wrote about a time when we came out of our shells, just like Michael in the story we read.

This week in 3PA...

• In Grammar Island, continued to learn about parts of a sentence. We focused our work on linking verbs predicates with subject complements.

• We continued to discuss the story "Shells". We focus on character traits and explored how they changed in our story.

• On Friday we explored a Breakout EDU!

This week in 3PA...

• In Grammar Island, we finished learning about parts of speech and now focusing on parts of a sentence. Moving forward we will have a grammar check every Friday!

• We worked on solving the "Case of Grumpy Ghost" It was tricky, but we worked together to solve the case!

• We continued to work on our own fables.

This week in 3PA...

• In Grammar Island, we finished learning about parts of speech. We focused on interjections. Interjections show emotion!

• We continued to work on writing our own fables.

This week in 3PA...

• In Grammar Island, we learned about prepositions. Prepositions show how TWO things are related in time or space.

• We continued reading and annotating various fables. We looked for elements of fables.

• We started writing our own fables!

This week in 3PA...

• In Grammar Island, we learned about conjunctions. We remember coordinating conjunctions by FANBOYS. (for, and, not, but, or, yet, so)

• We finished our work with "The Mice Council" and presented our plans for the cat.

• We read and annotated the fable, "The Dog and his Reflection".

• Next week, we will be creating our own fables!

This week in 3PA...

• In Grammar Island, we learned about adverbs. They are words that modify verbs, adjectives, or other adverbs! We continued to diagram sentences.

• We read and annotated the fable, "The Mouse Council".

• In the story, the mice were afraid of the cat. They came up with a plan to put a bell on the cat so they would know when it was coming. We brainstormed ways of getting the bell on the cat's neck.

This week in 3PA...

• In Grammar Island, we learned about the different types of verbs; action, helping, and linking verbs.

• We are starting to read Fables. We read the "Tap Dancer".

• We annotated the text and discussed the setting, character traits, and theme.

This week in 3PA...

• We finsihed our Clasroom Mottos.

• We completed a grammar and literary assessment.

• We explored the BreakoutEDU "School Days".We have not broken out yet!

• We listened to the first chapter of "Confession of an Imaginary Friends" for "First Chapter Friday".
