IPCW-DULS Workshop

Introduction to IRINS & Generating Digital Identity

Participation through online registration open until 8.05.22

The Concept Note:

The motivation for this Workshop germinates from the initiative of the DULS to update the research profiles of all the faculty members on the Indian Research Information Network System (IRINS) platform. IRINS is web-based Research Information Management (RIM) service developed by the Information and Library Network (INFLIBNET) Centre. The portal facilitates the collating, curating, and showcasing of the academic enterprise of individual faculty members, scientists, and Research & Development Organisations, and in this process provides an opportunity of academic & professional synergy of scholarly networks.

In April 2022, the DULS has approached the Undergraduate Colleges under the aegis of the University of Delhi to collect data about individual faculties and research scholars of all disciplines to host faculty profiles on the IRINS platform. These profiles will get a wide visibility at the national and international level, along with and citation count of the publications.

The IPCW-DULS Workshop Introduction to IRINS & Generating Digital Identity is the first step in collecting the College Faculty & Research Scholar Data for display on the University of Delhi profile page du.irins.org. The participants of this Workshop will be the nodal point of contact in each Department and disseminate the information and skill for creating Digital Identities for respective Department Colleagues, with further assistance by the trained Library Staff.

The Format:

The Workshop will be conducted by our Resource Person. The presentation will be followed by a discussion and practical session.

The Objective:

After acquiring the necessary understanding and skill for creating appropriate IRINS Digital Identity, the participants will be empowered to instruct colleagues. Thus, facilitating an IPCW Database for IRINS IDs for submission to the DULS for display on the dedicated website.

Conclusion & Vote of thanks:

The Resource Person will make his observations & the Convener will close the Workshop with a vote of thanks for all present.
