Lower School Band

Have you ever been captivated by the sweet melodic sounds of woodwinds? Or been moved to excitement by heralding sounds of trumpets and trombones? This class is for you! Instruction will include how to read rhythms and pitch, along with the fundamentals of how to make a good sound on the instrument. We'll enjoy working together as a group in order to sound our best!

No experience necessary to start, but second-year students (continuing from 5th to 6th grade) will be encouraged to continue furthering their skills on their instruments from last year. Second year students may be allowed to switch to another instrument by consent of the instructor if they feel they haven't found the right instrument yet.

Students will get a chance to share their musical growth by performing twice a year at concerts presented in conjunction with the Upper School concert bands.
