In this project, we did a system of water collection to water our school orchard. First of all, we did a big research about a lot of systems of water gathering. Our class asked us some questions about the rain in the Maresme area. We made a big research of how many litres per square meter falls on Maresme, specifically on the water station in Cabrils. With the results, we calculated how many bottles of 8 L we could fill when it rained. The results were spectacular, we saw that on the space of 457 m2 we could fill 634 bottles of 8 L.
After all the research, we started the construction of the project. In this project we used some plastic pipes and attached it to a plastic bottle. All being connected with a tube. This project works outstandingly and we have filled 12 bottles of 8 litres in a whole week.
In our part of the work we have devised some measures, each with its own budget, to collect rainwater to irrigate the orchard in the current drought situation.

Thanks to this project, we have realized the importance of water and how it is wasted. We have also learned to design and think about prototypes to collect this water.
Gema has helped us to know the importance of water. And she made us aware of this waste.
Albert has also taught us how to calculate the water we waste for several years and has helped us to create the idea for the project.
This rainwater harvesting project has taught us about sustainability, science, economics, and teamwork. It has been a very enriching experience, and we are proud of what we have achieved.
