The topic we are studying this year is Water Security. In every unit, we have created a digital project related to the topic and we are proud to share them with you. Thanks for checking them out and giving us your feedback.
We made this video to give support to our Erasmus+ partner in Volos, Greece, after they had suffered the floods in September 2023. We showed them our city, explained that we had also experienced floods in the past, and expressed our concern for their reality, wishing them the best.
In Unit 2 we examined water through a personal lens to discover its essential role in daily life and culture.
In this Unit we calculated the water footprints to determine how water-wise we were and to identify ways we can conserve water in our everyday lives. After calculating how much water we spend in the high school daily, we also developed a measure called Brida Action Power to save water in the basins. Please check the video below, in which you can see our project in Mataró TV.
In Unit 4, we researched water in our city and answered questions such as: How is water part of our city's history, economy, and culture? Where does the water in my faucet come from? What actions can we take so that all people in our city have equitable access to safe water now for the future? We show you here some of our infographics. Some of all also went to visit the Water deposit of Bellavista to have a first-hand experience of the water distribution system in our city, as you might have seen in the video above.
In Unit 5, we divided the class into groups and researched about a water pollution topic related to our classmates, family and community to identify the most important issues related to water security. We learned how to look for a source and how to write a meaningful article.
